Client Testimonial

Page One Power is only the second firm I have ever asked to create a link building campaign for any one of the several companies that I’m involved with.

At the time of writing, their work has resulted in 22 links to our website in 3 months, and I know for a fact they’ve got a few more lined up for next month already.

Doesn’t seem much, does it? Not when you compare it to the 93 links the other link building firm obtained in 9 days. It’s now coming up for 6 months since the last of those links were acquired, and I still have the list they gave me. A list, I might add, that I had to ask for.

January is always a slow month for us, hence the reason I found myself giving my hard drive a bit of a spring clean. I was deleting images, screenshots, documents etc. when I stumbled across this old list, so I opened it up and clicked on a few links.

Oh my. Links were hard to find. In fact, PAGES were hard to find. I found one link on a website that was about financial investments, with a particular focus on initial public offerings (IPOs). Go figure! This link was promoting a website that sells novelty gifts.

That got me thinking about the word ‘link’. When you are involved in discussions about websites and search engines every day, it’s all too easy to forget what the word ‘link’ meant before the internet was ever invented.

There is no real link between financial investments and novelty gifts, so the web link between my site and theirs isn’t real either. It shouldn’t be there.

Imagine, if you will, browsing your favourite financial investment blog. You’re looking for news about stocks, inflation, interest rates…….. and then you find an obscure link to a site that sells novelty gifts.

You don’t understand it. Your certainly don’t click on it. In short, that link has made the web a worse place to be. It’s also the reason I’m glad that the team at Page One Power has obtained 22 links instead of 93.
