Hello,
My name is Jesse Stoler, and I’m a staff writer here at Linkarati. A few weeks ago, we decided to make a timeline dedicated to Google’s history of issuing manual penalties to brand name sites. Today, we’re thrilled to finally add this timeline to our site.
For some, Google has cultivated a reputation of letting brand name sites off the hook after violating Google’s webmaster guidelines. This timeline shows that isn’t necessarily the case. Google has a history of punishing sites both large and small.
Why put together this timeline? To quote George Santayana, “Those who can not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” We’re hoping this timeline provides valuable information to any SEOs and/or webmasters making an honest effort to wear their white hats.
Please contact us if you have any questions or feedback. Hey, maybe there’s something we missed; we’d be happy to add another example. We hope you enjoy our manual penalty timeline!
